Helping women and girls
rebuild their
lives.
STARS (Striving Toward Achievement, Renewal and
Success) is a program that takes a unique approach to
helping women and girls re-build their lives after
becoming involved in the criminal justice system.
Studies show that very often, women who break the law
have been victims of abuse, violence, and crime
themselves. While STARS’ participants
are held accountable for their actions, the key to
helping them develop constructive lives is in STARS
supportive, positive atmosphere, which includes
therapeutic interventions, job training, education, and
a great deal of motivation.
STARS staff is committed to setting a welcoming tone
from the moment a new participant walks through the
door. The program has helped hundreds of women build
better lives for themselves and their children. STARS is
funded through a grant from the Connecticut Court
Support Services Division.
